About the site
This site is published by Kansas City Hardscapes, a Missouri company. We use it to share our portfolio, answer common questions, accept design meeting requests, and run a private client portal for active projects.
The Project Calculator is an estimate, not a quote
The Project Calculator returns a rough budget range based on the inputs you provide. It is meant to give you a sense of order of magnitude before we meet, nothing more.
A real quote requires a site visit. Every yard is different. Slope, drainage, soil, access for equipment, existing utilities, permit requirements, and design choices can move the final price up or down significantly. We do not honor calculator output as a binding price.
The AI Patio Visualizer is illustrative
The Patio Visualizer uses Google Gemini to generate an image of what a patio might look like in your space, based on a photo you provide.
These images are creative renderings, not promises. They may show materials, layouts, or features that are not feasible for your specific site, that exceed your budget, or that would not meet local code. Always confirm any design idea with our team before treating it as a plan.
You agree not to upload photos that you do not have the right to use (for example, photos of someone else's property without their permission).
AI-generated and AI-enhanced imagery elsewhere on the site
Beyond the Visualizer, we use AI imagery in two ways:
Fully AI-generated illustrations. These are stock-style images created entirely by AI when a real photo isn't available or appropriate. They are marked with a small gold diamond visible on the image itself.
AI-enhanced photographs of real projects. Some project photos have been color-graded, time-shifted (for example, a daytime photo rendered as a night view), or had visual elements amplified (for example, a more dramatic flame in an existing fire feature). These remain photographs of real Kansas City Hardscapes work. The space, materials, and build shown are exactly what we delivered to the homeowner; the enhancement is to show that work at its best, similar to how a real estate photographer adjusts lighting and sky. Enhanced photos of real projects may also be marked with the gold diamond when the enhancement is substantial.
On the portfolio page, every photo is a real Kansas City Hardscapes project we built. We may enhance it, but the build itself is real.
AI images in blog posts and general marketing illustrate the kind of work we do. They are not photos of specific past projects.
Design meetings and consultations
Free design meetings booked through this site are exactly that: a meeting, not a commitment to hire us or be hired. If we move forward together, a separate written contract will govern the project itself.
Intellectual property
The site design, photography, 3D models, copy, and brand marks are owned by Kansas City Hardscapes or licensed to us. You may not copy, reuse, or modify them for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Photos of completed projects on this site are from real Kansas City Metro builds. They appear here with the homeowners' permission and remain our work product to display.
Content you upload
When you upload a photo to the AI Patio Visualizer or send us project photos by email, you grant us a limited license to use that content for the purpose you sent it (generating a visualization, preparing a design, planning the work). We will not publish your photos publicly without your permission.
Disclaimer of warranties
The website and its tools are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption, error-free, or compatible with every device or browser. We do our best, but we cannot guarantee perfection.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by Missouri law, Kansas City Hardscapes is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or its tools, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
For anything arising from the website (not from a signed construction contract), our total liability is limited to one hundred US dollars or the amount you have paid us through the site in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Jackson County, Missouri.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
